I am really enjoying this art book (subtitled: 44 Exercises for Mesmerizing, Marking, and Making Magical Art with Your Pencil).  The exercises are easy to do, and a lot of fun as well.  I’m not exactly an expert artist, so it’s perfect for me, plus it mainly involves pen and pencil crayons.

Here is my exercise for “alternate colors.”  It was one of the most fun art pieces I’ve ever made:

This one is called “tiles,” you basically draw six tiles and fill them with whatever comes to mind:

I had fun with this one.  The second-t0-last one was inspired by the old McDonald’s cups that my sister and I used to love to drink Coke out of.  The last one I call “hidden dinosaur.”

I photocopied a lot of the exercises so I can continue to work on them.  I highly recommend this book if you’d love to explore art in a fun, easy way.
